WordCamp is an occasion where WordPress lovers and enthusiasts discuss, share and promote everything related to WordPress. This event takes place every year in 68 cities, 6 continents and 65 countries of the world. That being said, the next WordCamp, WordCamp Pune is just around the corner which is probably the first WordCamp to take place in the year 2017.
It will happen on 15th of January and the venue is Ness Wadia College of Commerce located in Pune, Maharashtra 411001, India which is for the third time in this city. Previously, local WordPressers of Pune organized the event in the years 2013 (February 23-24) and 2015 (September 6).
What is happening in the event?
This is the second time where they will present a multi-track, multi-activity programs for the participants. It will hopefully be helpful for everyone. They are also planning to experiment new things and accomplish ideas that didn’t work out last year. The committee postponed the schedule to January this year after a lot of forethought. It is because the last WordCamp on September 6 came to bad end weather wise.
Tickets like the early bird and regular are all sold out for the event. The gold sponsors for the event are WooCommerce, Jetpack, QualiSpace, Rtcamp, Resellerclub whereas the silver sponsors are GoDaddy Pro, Bluehost, MilesWeb etc. However, the “t-shirt less” tickets are still available until January 15, the big day! Organizers will provide attendees the handmade terracotta WAPPU. It has an awesome making story. You can read it from here.
WordCamp Pune encourages everyone from India and other Asian countries to participate and make the WordPress community bigger and worthwhile regardless of the WordPress expertise you hold. Everyone who has less or more knowledge regarding WordPress can participate in the event, there is no any prohibition. They expect decent and cordial conduct from all the participants so that the event will turn out to be a grand success!
