What is Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship?
Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship is a special kind of scholarship especially for women of any age who wants to contributes to WordPress attending WordCamp US. Simply it is a flagship event for the WordPress community.
This scholarship is a way of honoring the memory of Kim Parsell, an active member of the WordPress community until her untimely passing in 2015. She was a valued and committed contributor to the WordPress open source projects. Kim encouraged community members in whatever they were doing. And because of her valuable contribution to the WordPress community, this scholarship is named after her.
The scholarship covers travel from the recipient’s home city, hotel stay for the duration of the event, and a ticket to WordCamp US.
If you are a woman WordPress contributor who has never attended WordCamp US before and requires financial assistance to attend, then this scholarship is for you.

- The scholarship covers Travel from the recipient’s home city to St. Louis.
- It also covers hotel stay for the duration of the event and a ticket to WordCamp US 2020.
- The scholar has to manage other travel expenses such as taxis, meals outside the official event, air transportation or others by themself.
- The cost of the event ticket, round-trip flight, and lodging during the event also lies in the scholarship.
Who Should Apply
The Kim Parsell Memorial Scholarship is limited only to applicants who fulfill the following requirements:

- This scholarship is for a woman that has never attended WordCamp US before.
- She should be a contributor to the WordPress open source project (either through one of the contributor teams or as a local meetup or WordCamp organizer).
- If she has a financial need, then also she can apply.
